To build a united Eritrean community in Belgium, empowering members, preserving culture, supporting integration, and creating opportunities for learning, growth, and active participation in society.
At the Eritrean Community in Belgium, we provide a wide range of services and programs designed to support integration, education, cultural engagement, and community development. Our offerings are tailored to meet the needs of newcomers, families, youth, and adults.
The Eritrean Community in Belgium was created out of a deep need to support Eritreans living away from their homeland. Moving to a new country comes with challenges—navigating a different language, understanding administrative processes, accessing education and healthcare, and finding a sense of belonging. We exist to bridge that gap.
Our purpose is to empower every member of our community by providing guidance, resources, and opportunities to thrive. We believe that integration is not just about adapting to a new society—it’s about building connections, preserving cultural identity, and participating actively in community life.
We also exist to celebrate and preserve our heritage. Eritrean culture, language, and traditions are at the heart of who we are. Through cultural programs, mother-language classes, and community events, we ensure that our children and youth grow up connected to their roots while confidently engaging with Belgian society.
Ultimately, we exist to create a supportive, inclusive, and vibrant community where every individual—whether a newcomer, a long-time resident, or a volunteer—can find guidance, friendship, and opportunities to contribute. By fostering unity, learning, and cultural pride, we help our members not just survive, but thrive in Belgium.
